{"id":1233,"date":"2017-07-12T04:07:40","date_gmt":"2017-07-12T04:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/trustedagedcare.com.au\/?p=665"},"modified":"2017-07-12T04:07:40","modified_gmt":"2017-07-12T04:07:40","slug":"your-life-and-death-checklist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trustedagedcare.com.au\/newsite\/2017\/07\/12\/your-life-and-death-checklist\/","title":{"rendered":"Your Life and Death Checklist!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, while you&#8217;re still alive and have capacity, what are some of the considerations you need to take into account? \u00a0Here&#8217;s a list of a few we&#8217;ve come up with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enduring Power of Attorney document<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Health Directive<\/li>\n<li>Consider Trusts or Asset Protection strategies<\/li>\n<li>Do you want to provide for your families by giving away assets prior to death to ensure they go where you want?<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your passwords and bank account details are available to those who will need to know<\/li>\n<li>Review your documents on life changes such as marriage, loss of a spouse, divorce, health changes or when investing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And then there are considerations to deal with matters that will arise around your death that require attention, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your Will<\/li>\n<li>Mental Capacity &#8211; will having dementia affect your nneds<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Wishes &#8211; where exactly would you like certain things to go or how would you like to be interred &#8211; cremation or burial?<\/li>\n<li>Do you need a Testamentary Trust to provide for your children &#8211; adults or minors?<\/li>\n<li>Do you have outstanding taxation issues?<\/li>\n<li>Do you have a blended family that needs to be dealt with?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Along your journey, you&#8217;ll likely need to keep your documents in a secure loaction and make sure your advisers are up to date with your wishes. \u00a0Review your circumstances at least annually as things can change very quickly!<\/p>\n<p>Making sure you have &#8216;all your ducks in a row&#8217; is a beautiful gift to leave your family as dying intestate causes many problems.
